Molslinjen plans 12 MWh battery storage at Samsø ferry port
Molslinjen will install a 12 MWh battery energy storage system at Ballen on Samsø to support the electric ferry TYRFING, with commissioning expected in March 2027.

Molslinjen is to build a 12 MWh battery storage facility at Ballen Ferry Port on Samsø to secure power for the electric ferry TYRFING on the Ballen–Kalundborg route. The battery will hold enough energy for about four crossings and can also buffer the local grid. BOS Power will deliver the system; construction is planned for autumn and winter 2026/27.
