DFDS August freight flat, passenger numbers down 4.6%
DFDS carried 3.1m lane metres of freight in August 2026, unchanged on a year earlier, while passengers fell 4.6% to 934,000, mainly on the Dover Strait.

DFDS freight volumes in August 2026 were level with August 2025 at 3.1m lane metres. North Sea and Strait of Gibraltar volumes rose, while Mediterranean, Baltic and Channel volumes fell. Passenger numbers dropped 4.6% to 934,000, which DFDS attributed mainly to lower Dover Strait traffic in a declining market.
