HD KSOE to supply propulsion for Korea's first commercial electric car ferries
HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering will supply electric propulsion and 4.4 MWh batteries for two car ferries for Jeju's Seongsanhang–Udo route, due from 2027.

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has signed with Jeju Glass Bottom Boat to supply a turnkey electric propulsion system for two 60-metre car ferries, each carrying 400 passengers and 20 vehicles. Each will carry the company's BADA-100 battery system with 4.4 MWh. Built at a domestic yard, they are due to enter service from 2027 between Seongsanhang and Udo.
