MV Sound of Scalpay and MV Sound of Sleat were formally named on 23 September at Balaena Birkenhead (formerly Cammell Laird). The 50-metre double-ended ferries will each carry up to 40 cars and 220 passengers on Western Ferries' Clyde crossing between Dunoon and Gourock. They repeat the design of the 2013-built Sound of Seil and Sound of Soay.
